Mala Pilla or Malapilla (English: Girl from Mala caste) is a 1938 Indian Telugu-language social drama film directed by Gudavalli Ramabrahmam.[1] The film was produced by Sri Sarathi Studios. It is based on a social drama taking Gudipati Venkatachalam's story Mala Pilla, a love story between a Brahmin boy and a Dalit girl.[2] The film dealt with the crusade against untouchability, prevailing in pre-independent India.[3][4]
