Madrasa Azizia
Madrasa Azizia is an Indian Minority Educational Institution in Murarpur, Bihar Sharif, Nalanda, Bihar.[1] It was established under the Soghra Waqf Estate in the year 1896. It was established by philanthropist Bibi Soghra in memory of her late husband Abdul Aziz. It was one of two oldest madrasas of Bihar along with Madrasa Shamsul Hoda. It was burned in 2023 during the Ram Navami rally.[2][3]

FoundingEdit
The madrasa was established after the death of Abdul Aziz in 1895, it was running independently since its inception in 1896. It was shifted to a new campus in 1910 with about 3 acres of land campus.[4][5][6]
AffiliationEdit
Madrasa Azizia is affiliated with the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board till Fauqania courses and is affiliated with the Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University for Aalim, Fazil and Maulvi courses.[7][8][9]
2023 burningEdit
The madrasa was allegedly burned by Hindutva activists in 2023. According to the news, there were thousands of books which were burnt in the fire.[10][11][12]
