MATS University, (Mahaveer Academy of Technology and Science University), is a private university located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. It was established by Chhattisgarh Private University Act under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956.[1][2] MATS University is established by the government of C.G. under Chhattisgarh Private Universities establishment & operation act and recognized under section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956 approved by BCI, AICTE, AIU and NCTE and accredited by NAAC. The university started functioning in 2006 with the vision that speaks ambition, engagement, partnership, civic responsibility, longevity of and the values on which it is built and that remain at the heart of the university.

Departments[edit]

University departments include schools in Basic Sciences, Education, Fashion Designing, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Business Studies, Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law and Management Studies.[3]

Undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Technologey (B.Tech) in various engineering fields, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Business Management (BBM), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in various fields and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). Special programs include a five-year integrated Bachelor of Business Administration-Bachelor of Laws program and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design & Technology (B.Sc.-FDT). Postgraduate programs include mostly equivalent master level programs such as Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Education (M.Ed.) etc. and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).[4]

Cultural Fest[edit]

University conducts many cultural activities and fests, MATSOTSAV being the leading fest of the college. MATSOTSAV is one of the biggest fest organized in Chhattisgarh and has folk dances, singing and price distribution ceremony.[5]

The fest aims to provide a platform for students to show their enthusiasm for culture here in Chhattisgarh. The fest is mostly organized in the Aarang campus of university and is done on a grand scale.[6]
