Primarily a bowler, he bowled 16 wicketless overs and scored four runs.[2] Banerjee had played a single unofficial Test match for the India under-19 cricket team earlier in the year, taking two wickets,[3] but is not known to have played any cricket since February 1993.[4] He was born in Belurmath in 1975.[5]

He played other matches later the same season for Calcutta University and East Zone Universities.[6][7]
  3. Played a single List A match for the side in 1979. Had previously played under-22 and university level cricket.[8]
