Lakhipurgi Lakhipyari is a 2007 Manipuri film directed by L. Surjakanta and produced by Somen Moirangcha, under the banner of Ebudhou Film Creations. The film features Lairenjam Olen and Devita Urikhinbam in the lead roles. The film is based on Ashok Khurai's novel of the same title. He died during the shooting of the film due to heart attack in 2006.[1]

Synopsis[edit]

It is a love story between Amar, a boy from Imphal and Lakhipyari who is a village girl from a rich family in Lakhipur. Amar grows up in Lakhipur like an orphan. He finally meets his mother but loses his childhood sweetheart Lakhipyari who by then has married another man. Amar does not lose heart and becomes a famous singer.
