Krishna is an Indian animated film series based on Krishna. The film series consists of 4 films produced by Green Gold Animation. The series starts with the birth of Lord Vishnu as Krishna then the story continues the adventure of Krishna in Gokul and Vrindavan and ends in the slaying of evil demon Kansa.

As per TAM media research Krishna (film series) topped the charts across all transmissions on kid's channels and beat Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with the rating of 2.52 in 2007.[1]

Krishna - The Birth[edit]

Krishna - The Birth premiered on 16 August 2006, on Cartoon Network India is the first installment in the film series. This involves the birth of Lord Vishnu as Krishna he was born to Devaki and Vasudeva in Mathura.[2]

Krishna - Makhan Chor[edit]

Krishna - Makhan Chor premiered on 26 January 2007, on Cartoon Network India is the second installment in the film series. This involves the growing up of infant Krishna under the love and care of Nanda and Yashoda.[3]

Krishna in Vrindavan[edit]

Krishna in Vrindavan premiered on 8 April 2007, on Cartoon Network India is the third installment in the film series. This involves the adventures of Krishna and his friends in Vrindavan exploring new places destroying demons.[4]

Krishna Kansa Vadh[edit]

Krishna Kansa Vadh premiered on 4 September 2007, on Cartoon Network India is the fourth and final installment in the film series. This involves the traveling of Krishna and Balram to Mathura where they kill Kansa, then Krishna releases his imprisoned parents Devaki and Vasudeva and also releases his grandfather Ugrasen and crowns him as the king of Mathura.[5]

Krishna - Makhan Chor title track got the special honor at 2007 DIGICON Awards.[6]

Broadcast[edit]

The movies were mostly telecasted on Cartoon Network and Pogo until Sony YAY! secured the rights to movies in 2020.[7] The movies also telecasts on Gubbare.[8]
