Karaikal Carnival is a cultural festival organised by the tourism department,[which?] during the Pongal Festival in Karaikal, one of the four parts of the Union Territory of Puducherry, to promote tourism in the district.

The events of Carnival includes competitive ingredients, lot of cultural and sports events like Marathon, Cycle Race, Bullock cart Race, etc., for students and the public.
Entertainment Elements[edit | edit source]
The entertainment included the cinematic attractions like folk music by popular artists, Orchestras theatres by pioneers in the field.
Airshow[edit | edit source]
For the first time ever, the people of the Karaikal District experienced an airshow during 2007 performed by the personnel of Indian Air Force, where the people of IAF parachuted out of a helicopter from a height of 3000 feet.
Flotilla[edit | edit source]
A flotilla will be constructed in Arasalar River at Beach Road where one can dine in midst the water.
Carnival Song[edit | edit source]
A song was composed by Mr. Natarajan, son of 'Kalaikavalar' Karai Subbaiya and was played for audience at the valedictory function during 2007. The song can be downloaded.[1] It was accustomed as "Carnival Song".
