K.A.M. Muhammed Abubacker[1] is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu and Tamilnadu State General Secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) political party. He was Legislative Party Leader of the Indian Union Muslim League from 2016 to present.[2][3]

K.A.M. Muhammed Abubacker is the son of Janab K.L.T. Ahamed and Mrs. T. O. Ahamed Ayisha.[4] He is in the line of the Holy Saint Sheik Sadakathullaah Appaa and Umar Wali Appa. His spouse is Mrs. Syed Fathima and his son is Ahamed Mohideen.

Education[edit]

He completed his preliminary education at Kayalpatnam Muhiadeen Matriculation Higher Secondary School in which he was the School Pupil LeaderSchool Captain and he was in the football team. He has achieved top rank in inter-school Football Tournament. He established Mohammedan Sporting Club at Kayalpatnam. K.A.M.Muhammed Abubacker completed his graduation in Chemistry from The New College, Chennai in University of Madras

Public service[edit]

He established Quaid-e-Millath Youngmens Social Society and extended his services towards water scarcity, continuous power-cut, Health Hazard in Kayalpatnam during 1988. He arranged through his Association to erect a new transformer and arranged to nullify the water scarcity by supplying water to door to door through water tankers. His Team members cleaned the graveyards in Kayalpatnam. In this way he started his journey of social services.

Political service[edit]

As Abubacker's close relations were in Indian Union Muslim League, no doubt he is also in the same boat. The Former State Treasurer of IUML, a close associate of Quaid-E-Millath Muhammad Ismail Sahib, S.M.K. Mahmood Lebbai was his uncle. IUML local president S.M.K.Thaikka Omer, was his grandfather and Veteran Leader P.H.M.Abdul Kader was his very close relation. Even through Abubacker was a born Muslim Leagar, he enrolled his membership in Indian Union Muslim League party in 1986.

During college studies, his close association with Sirajul Millath A. K. A. Abdul Samad sahib and Muneerul Millath Prof.K. M. Kader Mohideen Sahib led to his active political involvement in the Indian Union Muslim League. He became the Primary (Branch) Secretary of Periamet in 1990. He summoned the students, established the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) on 23 October 1991 and he was elected as the State Convener of the MSF. He worked hard to form MSF units in the educational institutions in the state of Tamilnadu. When Muslim Youth League (MYL) first formed at national level, he was elected as its National Steering ccommittee member in 1994. He was Tamilnadu State Headquarters Secretary in 2008 and since 11 July 2009 he has worked as the Tamilnadu State General Secretary of Indian Union Muslim League. He has been the managing director and Publisher of ìMANICHUDARî Tamil Daily since 6 November 2009.[5]

Social services[edit]

He was appointed as a Consultation ccommittee member by the Indian Government's Human Resource Ministry in SPQEM Programme in 2012. As the General Secretary of the committee, he held the World Islamic Tamil Literal Conference at Kayalpatnam in 2011.

He performed Hajj in 2011 as a Royal Guest of Saudi King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in the Indian Hajj Panel. He contested Tamil Nadu Assembly General Election in the year 2016 from Kadayanallur Constituency in Tirunelveli District and was elected as Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the Tamilnadu 15th Legislative Assembly. Currently, he is serving as a Member of Business Advisory Committee (BAC), Public Undertaking Committee (PUC), House Committees of Tamilnadu Government. He is also a member of Tamil Nadu Wakf Board.
