Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha is a medical college in Wardha, Maharashtra. The college is recognised by the Medical Council of India and is affiliated to the Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (DMIMS).

Selection[edit]

Selection to the college is done on the basis of merit through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test. The yearly undergraduate student intake is 250.

Courses[edit]

The college also provides post-graduate degrees (M.D. & M.S.) in all specialities including Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Pediatrics, Obstetric & Gynaecology, E.N.T., Orthopaedics, Radio Diagnosis, Ophthalmology, Emergency Medicine, Skin & VD, Psychiatry, Pathology etc. and Super Speciality Degrees (D.M. & MCh) in Cardiac Anesthesia, Neuro Anesthesia, Neuro Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Gastroenterology etc.

Since 1990, the college offers the degree Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

Campus, hospital facilities, and amenities[edit]

The campus is spread across 125 acres. There is a central laboratory, a 24/7 blood bank, a primary hospital with 1400 beds (Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital), a superspecialty centre with 350 beds (Shalinitai Meghe Superspeciality Centre), and a cancer hospital with 100 beds (Late Siddharth Gupta Memorial Hospital). There are separate accommodations (8 hostels) for boys and girls, including apartment facilities for post-graduate students.

The various on-campus amenities and facilities include a large swimming pool, a fitness centre (health club), an open gymnasium, a jogging track, a cricket and football stadium, a basketball court, tennis and badminton courts, a food court, an open cafe, a research centre, an auditorium, guest house facilities for parents and guardians, a central library with an external reading room facility, and a mortuary with post mortem facilities.
