Jalagam Venkat Rao (born 28 July 1968) is ex member of the legislative assembly representing Kothagudem (Assembly constituency).[1] He won the 2004 elections from Sathupalli constituency. He holds the position of Parliamentary Secretary.

Early life[edit]

He was born to 5th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jalagam Vengal Rao in Khammam in Khammam district. He has an elder brother, Jalagam Prasada Rao, a former minister. He did his Bachelor of Science in Computer science in 1990 from University of Maryland, USA.

Career[edit]

He was a technocrat and was running a software company in Hyderabad, VJ Info.[2]

Political career[edit]

Jalagam Venkat Rao was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, representing the INC for the same constituency, Sathupalle (SC) (Assembly constituency), just as his father.[3][4]

TRS[edit]

He won as an MLA from Kothagudem assembly constituency in 2014 general elections, the first and the only TRS legislator from the Khammam district.[5]
