Hemam Shilky Devi (born 23 November 2005) is an Indian women's professional footballer from Manipur.[1] She plays as a Midfielder for the Young Welfare Club. Earlier, she played for Gokulam FC in the Indian Women's League and represents the India women's national football team. In 2022, she was the youngest player of the AFC Women's Asia Cup at 16 years and two months.

Early life[edit]

Hemam Shilky was born in Moirang in a poor family. Her father was a cook and he used to encourage Hemam to play football. But her mother, also a cook, reluctantly accepted later. And Hemam was sent to SAI Academy, Imphal for training.

Football career[edit]

Hemam made her Junior India debut at the age of 12 years in 2018 when she captained India to victory at the SAFF under-15 Women's Championship in Bhutan and became the joint top-scorer. The other tournaments she played are:

2019: AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Mongolia.[2]

26 Nov 2021: Debut for the Senior India team in 2022 against Brazil.[3] Lost 1–5;

29 Nov 2021: Lost to Chile 0–3;

2 Dec 2021: Lost to Venezuela 1–2.

FIFA U-17 World Cup:

  • 11 Oct 2022: India lost to USA u-17 = 0–8;[4]
  • 14 Oct 2022: India lost to Morocco U-17 = 0–3;[4]
  • 17 Oct 2022: India lost to Brazil 0–5;[5]

2022, Asian Women's Cup;

2022: India Under-17 team at World cup (captain).[6]
