Muhammad Hasan Rizvi (born 1957) is an Indian politician and Barelvi Islamic leader.[1] He had served as the Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency (now in Jharkhand) since 1990[2][3] to 1995 on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha symbol.[4][5][6][7][8] He is the chairman of Ruhani Markaz,[9][10] under Government of Jharkhand and previously the President of Jharkhand Muslim Mahaz.[11][12] He is known for requesting Chief Minister Hemant Soren for Eid-ul-Milad-Un-Nabi a Holiday.[13]

Political career[edit]

Hasan Rizvi started his career with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha when Jharkhand movement was at high in Bihar. He fought 1990 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency and won against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mrigendra Pratap Singh and served till 1995. He joined Janata Dal in 1995 before the election and fought 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly election as a Candidate of Janata Dal but lost to Mrigendra Pratap Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party.

He joined Janata Dal (United) after it's formation in 2003 and then joined Rashtriya Janata Dal in 2004 in presence of Lalu Prasad Yadav.[14]
