Guntur West mandal
Guntur West mandal is one of the 58 mandals in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[3] It is under the administration of Guntur revenue division and was formed by bifurcating Guntur urban mandal into Guntur East and Guntur West, with its headquarters at Guntur.[4][5][6][7]

HistoryEdit
As per Gazettee No. 939, dated the 26 January 2022, the old Guntur district, formed in 1904, was split into Guntur district, Palnadu district and Bapatla district. 12 madals from Tenali revenue division and 13 mandals from Prakasam district was merged into the newly formed Bapatla district.[8]
GovernanceEdit
The mandal is under the administration of a tahsildar. It forms part of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, under the jurisdiction of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority.[9] Guntur west assembly constituency represents the state assembly and it is a segment of Guntur Lok sabha constituency.[10]
SettlementsEdit
Guntur West mandal covers a western part of Guntur Municipal Corporation and its urban agglomerations namely, Ankireddipalem, Chowdavaram, Guntur West constituency, Koritepadu, Nallapadu, Pedapalakaluru, Pothuru and R Agraharam.[4] Except Chinapalakaluru, all other areas were already de-notified and merged with Guntur Municipal Corporation in 2012.[11][12][13]
