Girish Mathrubootham (born March 29, 1975) is an Indian entrepreneur, best known as the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Freshworks Inc., a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) company providing customer engagement solutions.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Girish was born in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) and later pursued an MBA in Marketing from the University of Madras.
Career[edit]
Before founding Freshworks, Girish worked at AdventNet (now Zoho Corporation) from 2001 to 2010, where he gained significant experience in product development and management. In 2010, he co-founded Freshdesk (renamed Freshworks in 2017) with Shan Krishnasamy, aiming to provide user-friendly customer support solutions. 15 Under his leadership, Freshworks became a global SaaS provider, offering a suite of products for customer engagement, and was listed on the NASDAQ in 2021.
Personal Life[edit]
Girish is married to Shoba, and they have two sons. He is active on social media and has announced plans to release his autobiography.
