Gaurang Jani

Dr. Gaurang Jani is a sociologist and a retired professor.[1] He is an activist for the rights of sex workers and of the LGBT and queer communties.[2][3]

Career[edit]

Jani was a member of the faculty at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad.[4]

Jani was an advisor to the Gujarat State OBC Commission.[1] He is a critic of casteism and communalism.[5][6]

Jani's focus of research has been the sex workers of Ahmedabad through his association as a consultant with an NGO called Jyoti Sangh.[7][8]

Jani runs a publishing house named Anmol Prakashan.[9]
