Garbage Bin (cartoon strip)
Garbage Bin is a popular cartoon strip from India created in 2011 by Faisal Mohammed. It is published in form of a webcomic firstly on Facebook and later on added in Instagram. It has more than one million followers today on Facebook.[1][2][3]
The lead character of the comic is Guddu and other characters are Guddu's best friend Shan and other school mates, the class teacher and Guddu's family, which consists of his father and mother. Guddu has no siblings. Guddu is a 10-year-old kid of 1990s, whose middle-class wit tickles readers and leaves them in nostalgia. The mother-son and school scenes created in comic strip makes readers nostalgic, co-relating them with their childhood memories of family, school and school friends.[2] Garbage Bin gags make one realize that every middle-class kid during the 1990s lived a similar life with almost the same everyday incidents and accidents.[3][4][1]
Guddu is inspired by the creator of cartoon Faisal Mohammed and Shan is inspired from Md Shan Nawaz, his best friend and co-founder of Garbage Bin Studios.[1]With a modest beginning in 2011, the strip has crossed over one million followers today on Facebook.[1]
