Fisheries Research and Training Institute (Pakistan)

The Fisheries Research and Training Institute is a prominent research institution located in Lahore, Pakistan. The institute is organised into seven sections, each specialising in different aspects of fisheries research and training:

• Biology and Ecology - Studies the biological and ecological aspects of fish species and their habitats.
• Nutrition - Researches dietary needs and feeding practices for various fish species.
• Pathology and Disease - Investigates fish diseases and health management.
• Chemistry - Analyzes the chemical properties and water quality affecting fish health and growth.
• Fisheries Management - Develops strategies for sustainable fishery practices and resource management.
• Training - Provides education and training programs for stakeholders in the fisheries sector.

The institute is led by the Director Fisheries (Research and Training) of Punjab, based in Lahore. Each section is managed by a Deputy Director Fisheries, who is supported by an Assistant Director Fisheries, ensuring effective oversight and specialised expertise across all areas of research and training.
