English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Celebration of the fact that the first Hindus from India came to Suriname as indentured servants 100 years ago. With a replica of the sailing boat Lalla Rookh, the first ship on which the Hindus arrived, the arrival is played out. They move through Paramaribo in a parade.

Viering van het feit dat 100 jaar geleden de eerste Hindoestanen uit India als contractarbeider in Suriname kwamen. Met een replica van het zeilschip Lalla Rookh, het eerste schip waarmee de Hindoestanen arriveerden, wordt de aankomst nagebootst. In een optocht rijden ze door Paramaribo. |
