English: Karakattam (Tamil: கரகாட்டம் or "karakam (கரகம் 'water pot') dance") is an ancient folk dance of Tamil Nadu performed in praise of the rain goddess Mariamman. தமிழ்: கரகாட்டம் தமிழர்களின் மரபான ஆட்டங்களில் ஒன்று. தலையில் கரகம் வைத்து ஆடும் ஆட்டம் இது. கரகம் என்பது ஒரு பானை வடிவ கமண்டலத்தைக் குறிக்கும். சங்க இலக்கியங்களில் கரகாட்டம் குடக்கூத்து என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. பல வகைகளில் அழகூட்டி கரகத்தை தலையில் வைத்தபடி, சமநிலை பேணி கரகாட்டம் ஆடப்படும்.
