Ekta Yatra (English: National Integration rally) is being led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing national president and Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur.[1] The rally started from Kolkata, West Bengal on 12 January. As per plan the BJP rally travelled through Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana. It was also planned to end the rally on 26 January after unfurling the Tiranga at Lal Chowk, Srinagar. And Indian National Flag was unfurled on 26 January 2011 at Lal Chowk Jammu and Kashmir, INDIA.

Bending to separatists[edit]

Both Central and State Governments did all they can to prevent tricolor being unfurled, which was seen as bending to separatists.[citation needed]

Unprecedented incidents[edit]

Government took action that has never been seen or heard before in independent India: on orders of Home Minister, a special train carrying 1500 BJP workers from Karnataka to Delhi was silently reversed when the BJP workers were sleeping in the night.[citation needed]
