Kazhinju Poya Kaalam Kaattinakkare[edit]
Kazhinju Poya Kaalam Kattinakkare is the most popular song written by E. V Valsan. He wrote it in 1969 for a play called Pratheeksha.[8] For some people, the song is mainly a depiction of lost love and for some others, it is a sweet feeling of nostalgia. It was first sung by Vinod Vadakara. "People seemed to notice it when I first sang it. Since then, I have been lucky enough to perform this song on several stages. I have to say that slowly but surely, people took over it in stride.", Vinod said later while asking about the popularity of the song.[9] It became more popular after it was included in an musical album called "Madhumazha", which is a collection of ten songs by Valsan.[10] It is one of the most sung songs across the school festivals in Kerala. During the 50th anniversary of the song, Valsan was honoured in Vadakara in an event organised by musicians and music lovers in 2019.[11][12]
