There are thousands of attorneys in California who seem to have similar training, licensing, and specialization, but the experience that different clients have with their attorneys is so different from one another.
So how do you know that your lawyer is the one who will provide you with quality legal representation:
1. Your attorney isn't too confident about the outcome of your case. No matter how seasoned and experienced the lawyer may be, they can never be sure of the outcome of your case. There are so many facts and circumstances that can come into play as the case develops and the nature of our legal system is such that there is simply no way to know for sure whether you will win or lose and if you will win - exactly how much you will get back on the other side.
A responsible legal professional will assure you that they will do their best to represent you as aggressively as possible, but they will make no promises as to how much you will recover or how long the process will take.2. A good lawyer should not act like a pushy salesman. He shouldn't have to put papers under your hand for your signature saying "it's okay and you don't have to worry about anything". Instead, it should explain to you in clear, understandable terms what you are signing, why it is necessary, and what the consequences will be if you sign this document. For example, a good attorney will review your service contract with them paragraph by paragraph so that you understand the scope and limitations of the legal services you will receive.
A good lawyer will also inform you that you are free to terminate your agreement at any time and seek another lawyer and hire another lawyer of your choice at any time.
A good lawyer is patient with their clients and makes sure you have a general understanding of the process, and they don't make you feel intrusive or that you're wasting their time.
3. A good lawyer is able to stay in touch with you in a way that makes you feel like your case is getting the attention it needs. A lawyer has a duty to communicate regularly with his client. One of the most common complaints filed by clients with the California State Bar is that the attorney fails to communicate and respond to phone calls/emails and letters from their clients. Being ignored is a frustrating experience in any environment – professionally, socially and especially when dealing with a lawyer. The litigation process is stressful enough and raises many questions or concerns for a client as the case develops and needs to be dealt with quickly. A good lawyer is not "too busy" to call back and keeps you informed of the progress of your case.
4. A good lawyer will advise you not only on how to pursue your case, but also on the value of your time, money, energy and emotions in doing so. Not all fights are worth fighting, and sometimes it's best to run away for your own benefit, even if the other side runs away and isn't held responsible. An honest lawyer won't force you to defend a just cause just to charge you an hourly rate. He truly works in the best interests of his clients by not only pursuing their legal rights but also advising them whether it is wise to pursue a case in its entirety.
5. A good lawyer isn't too busy to handle your case. A competent lawyer does not take on more work than he can deal with qualitatively. A good lawyer will not sacrifice the quality of his services for the volume of the firm because he knows that his reputation and his concern for the business of his current clients are his priority.
6. Finally, your lawyer does not come across as a "typical" lawyer. A good lawyer challenges the stereotypes often associated with the legal profession - arrogance, greed and exuberance, and drug addiction. He is friendly, personable and charismatic and you enjoy working with him For more information click This link
