Raman Bhanit born 08 Oct 1976, Gurugram, India+1+ is an Indian sports commentator and TV Anchor+2+ known as the host of the LIVE cricket match analysis show FOURTH UMPIRE+3+ on DD National, He anchored for almost a decade. Prior to that he had also hosted a cricket show called DD Wisden 20:20 during live match broadcasts+4+. He has done commentary for sports networks SONY, STAR Sports, ESPNSTAR, TEN Sports, Discovery Sport+5+ and DD for over 20 years, and has been a part of the commentary panel for BCCIs coverage of Ranji Trophy, Womens Cricket and Domestic Cricket Tournaments+6+.


Early lifeEdit

Raman started his career as a freelance Radio Jockey in 1995+7+ and did various shows including Games People Play a sports recap show and Matchless Music Hour+8+. He did the dial in and out show LIVEWIRE on AIR FM+9+ till 2005, before hosting Fourth Umpire on TV in 2006.

Raman has done Hindi commentary for STAR Sports for the Indian Super League+10+ and actively covers Football. He was a part of the Hindi commentary on SONY for UEFA EURO 2016 & FIFA World Cup 2018+11+ coverage and done English commentary and shows for Hockey India League and Asia Cup Hockey on STAR Sports+12+.

He is on NBAs panel of Hindi Commentators for Live commentary of NBA games on SONYTEN3 and was one of only three people who did Hindi Commentary for the NBA INDIA GAMES held in Mumbai on 4th and 5th October 2019 at the NSCI.+13+

Raman has been associated for projects with Cricinfo, Cricbuzz, MobileESPN and Hotstar, doing Cricket content on digital audio platforms+14+.

Raman has the distinction of being the face and voice of the broadcast for FIVE Asian Games, FIVE Commonwealth Games and FIVE Olympic Games coverages in India since 2000 on SONY, STAR & Doordarshan.

Raman has also done commentary for Olympic Broadcast Services+15+. He was the 1st commentator to do HINDI commentary on the Channels Live coverage of the Olympic Boxing Qualifiers 2020+16+ and featured on few segments of Olympic Boxing Qualifiers 2020 Studio Shows.
