Mohini Mohan Dhar was an Indian lawyer, Dewan and State Judge of Mayurbhanj State in Odisha during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.[1][2]

CareerEdit

Dhar was appointed as the Adviser, State Judge and Vice-President of the State Council under Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo.[3] His responsibilities included overseeing the judicial system, which involved supervising Magistrates, Munsifs, Sub-Judges, and Sub-Divisional Officers in their capacity as Deputy Magistrates. As the Dewan, he was the head of the Revenue Department, which included the Settlement, Agriculture, Zamindar, and Registration Departments.[3][4] Led by Pramatha Nath Bose, in Gorumahisani, mines were leased to Tata Steel in which Dhar, as the Dewan, played the leading role.[5][6][7] He along with Mr. Kidley, was a private tutor to Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo during his college year at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack.[8][9]

He had two children- Dhirendra Mohan Dhar, Bar-at-Law High Court of Calcutta and B.Sc. Engineering Drawing and Design and Practical, applied Mathematics from King's College London[10] and Satyendra Mohan Dhar, Esq, ICS CIE.[11][12][13] 42nd and 44rth Commissioner of Tirhut division, Muzaffarpur, Bihar[14]

DeathEdit

Dhar died of Oropharyngeal cancer in Kolkata.[15]
