Guru Nanak Paramedical College (GNPMC) was established in 2022 by Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust, a charitable organization registered on February 6, 1981 under the Societies Registration Act in India. It is named after Guru Nanak, an Indian spiritual teacher, mystic and poet considered to be the founder of Sikhism. The college is affiliated to Inder Kumar (IK) Gujral Punjab Technical University in Kapurthala, Punjab. The university confers all degrees taught at Guru Nanak Paramedical College. The college is located in the village of Dhahan-Kaleran, next to Banga, on the Phagwara-Mohali expressway connecting Phagwara and Nawanshahr. It sits on a campus next to Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, Guru Nanak Mission Public Senior Secondary School and Guru Nanak College of Nursing. Its location makes it accessible to day scholars living near Ludhiana, or within the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District in Punjab.

Guru Nanak Paramedical College sits on a portion of 30.5 acres of land donated to Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust around 1980, by the villages of Dhahan and Kaleran. Nearby conveniences include a hospital, a bank, a playground and a Gurdwara. College facilities include teaching classrooms, a library, a computer lab, science laboratories, a mess hall and hostels for both boys and girls.

Guru Nanak Paramedical College opened in 2022, under the guidance of the late Dr. Shivinder Singh Gill, Director of Health Services at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital and former Vice Chancellor at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Training medical personnel was an aspiration of Budh Singh Dhahan, founder of Guru Nanak Mission Medical & Educational Trust, which manages Guru Nanak Paramedical College. Budh Singh Dhahan was a social activist in Punjab who also spearheaded the opening of a hospital and primary and secondary school in his home village of Dhahan, after living in Canada for 20 years. The Paramedical College began by offering three allied health programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Radiology & Imaging Technology (BSc RIT)
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (BSc MLS)
- Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre Technology (BSc OTT)
In 2025, it began offering the following additional programs:
- Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Microbiology
- Master of Science (MSc) in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre
- Master of Science in Radiology & Imaging Technology (MSc RIT)
Currently, the college’s BScN and MScN degrees are conferred by Inder Kumar (IK) Gujral Punjab Technical University in Kapurthala, Punjab.
