Dalit movements have emerged from diverse backgrounds. On the one hand organizations born independently based on problems. On the other hand, new ones were created due to the inadequacies, neglects and disappointments of the existing systems. Although this second tendency is often dependent on individual personalities, as problems for oppressed peoples they do not rest on individual strengths. It becomes inevitable that social problems are their foundation. Vai.Balasundaram. Although the Ambedkar People's Movement was formed depending on the personality of Vai.Balasundaram, it functioned as an organization that functioned from the foundation of Dalit people's rights.Vai.Ba who was the head of that organization, passed away in Chennai on the 6th December 2019.

The Dravida Munnetra kazhagam early base was the slums of Chennai. The DMK was able to easily tap into the grassroots who had already gained political connection through their leaders. Nagaiah's daughter Sathyavani Muthu, who was an activist of the All India Scheduled Castes Federation (AISCF) started by Ambedkar, and Yumparithi were DMK leaders in Chennai. Vai.Ba is notable in that line. Attracted by Periyar's ideas, Va.Ba was born into an influential family involved in the sale of lime. He soon became DMK's Chennai regional functionary. He was in direct contact with Anna. He served as DMK's Chief Secretary and Agriculture Team Administrator. After Anna's death, he was one of the people who worked to come to Karunanidhi's side instead of going to Chief Minister Nedunjehian. Later, due to his influence in the city and the party, he was made the Mayor of Chennai. In 1971, he contested on behalf of the DMK from Acharappakkam constituency and became a member of the Legislative Assembly. He also served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Scrutiny Committee on Public Sector Undertakings. On returning from a trip abroad on behalf of the group, he suggested a blueprint as a model for the Anna flyover, which had begun construction in Chennai at that time. Accordingly, the structure of Anna Mempalam was arranged. It was changed to full trousers after he raised a question in the Legislative Assembly about trouser for policemen. In the early DMK there wassome room for leaders to work with the Dalit identity. The party also needed it. But after coming to power that space started shrinking. That is how the ouster of Sathyavani Muthu and Waipa happened. While still in the DMK, Vai.ba organized the Tamil Nadu Downtrodden Hill People's Unification Conference at Chennai's Periyar Thital. His writer friends Chandilyan and Tamilvanan also attended and spoke. Karunanidhi, who was the Chief Minister, also attended the conference at the last moment. No specific reason was given for VAIBA's departure from DMK. But the clash broke out at the coral festival meeting held at Chennai beach for M. Karunanidhi, who was the Chief Minister. In the meeting, Vai.ba mentioned that DMK is ignoring Dalits in elections. That was the famous meeting where Karunanidhi replied, 'There is a Part in the heart'.

After leaving the DMK in the 1970s, WIBA could not join the Republican Party of India, which was already functioning. So he started an organization called 'Ambedkar People's Movement' on 14th April, Ambedkar's birthday, by combining the Ambedkar forums and night schools that were running in Chennai. It was inaugurated by Prabudas Patwari who was the then Governor of Tamil Nadu. Dalit cadres from the DMK joined the Vai.Ba organization to a large extent. The first General Secretary G.A. Appan, the second General Secretary A.K. Sami, poet Palanivelu, Chatur Chandragupta Mauryar are notable in this way. The party did not have any new programs as it came from the mainstream party. The party activities were based on the legalistic scale of representation for Dalits, implementation of government schemes and struggle against social violence. His organizational work in the 1990s was more important than his legislative work. Rallies and conferences organized by Vai.ba after the launch of Ambedkar People's Movement are significant in the political history of Tamil Nadu. In the 1980s, the organization was involved in many protests. Ambedkar's People's Movement is Ambedkar's People's Movement. Till the Liberation Tigers got influence in Madurai region, this organization was functioning in the area. Ponnuthai Ammal Ambedkar, who started the Gandhiji School at Vadipatti Potulupatti in the 1950s, became a popular movement administrator. In the 1980s, there was violence against Dalit women in Sanganangulam town. Thirumangalam Nagarani and Vadipatti Panchu were killed. It was this movement that led the struggle against this. The stage was set on fire when the protest was about to take place for Vadipatti panchu. Vai.Ba got on top of theand addressed the crowd. When the first panchayat elections were announced in Tamil Nadu in the 1980s, Vaiba filed a case in the Supreme Court seeking reservation. At the same time, the Congress government at the center introduced a bill called 'Panchayat Rajnagar Balika'. In that case, the court also asked to consider Vai.Ba petition. So he added the cause of the case and included the clarification for reservation in the local bodies in the Panchayat Rajnagar Palika Amendment Bill.

The Vanniyar reservation struggle began in the 1980s. It also turned violent. Various Dalit organizations decided to come together. L. Ilayaperumal, M. Sundarrajan, Dr. Chapan, b. When Sakhitadasan and Jayaseelan formed the Scheduled People's Liberation Alliance (SCAM), Waipa was appointed as its president. SCAM broke after 1987.Vai.Ba continued to function as a separate party. When the Vai.Ba party started, people were dying. After death, the secondary leaders are gone. Vaiba did not comply with the electoral pact he had called for when MGR was in power; Vaiba met Sankarachari when Sankaramad called him to help him build a Dalit industrial terminal by guaranteeing his bank investment. After these two incidents, his organization became stagnant. However, senior Dalit leaders put pressure on the DMK government's decision to ban the LTTE in the 1990s. It is noteworthy that Vai.Ba also participated in it. The generation that steadfastly carried the Blue Flag, the Blue Flag and the Ashoka Chakra is disappearing. The new generation could not get along with the Dalit organizations. Their reality was different. Poovai Murthy and John Pandian, who later emerged as militants in Tamil Nadu, began their careers from this organization.

Vai.Ba was born on the 3rd April 1942. But he used to observe April 13 as his birthday. The reason for this is that April 14 coincides with Ambedkar's birthday. His wish was to celebrate his birthday on the 13th and celebrate Ambedkar's birthday the next day. Ambedkar's wish is to have been born on his birthday. But nature was born on the 3rd April. As if he knew his will, nature called him on the 6th Dec Ambedkar's death.
