As the route is fully electrified by 2018 but this train get end to end electric locomotive at late Feb 2019, a Santragachi shed-based WAP-4 or Electric Loco Shed, Tatanagar-based WAP-7 up to Visakhapatnam, earlier it was hauled by a Visakhapatnam-based WDM-3A twins diesel locomotive powers the train up to Visakhapatnam and after that an Arakkonam-based WAP-1 or Vijayawada shed WAP-4 or Lallaguda shed WAP-7 electric locomotive powers the train up to its destination.

- 22838 Ernakulam Junction–Hatia Dharti Aaba AC Superfast Express leaves Ernakulam Junction every Thursday and arrives Hatia on second day.
