On July 20, 2018, The Imam of Barelvi movement, President of Jamaat Raza-e-Mustafa and Grand Mufti of India Tajush Shariah Akhtar Raza Khan Qadri alias Azhari Miyan died due to the prolonged illness.[1][2][3][4][5] His funeral was attended by at least 12,500,000 people across the world.[6][7][8][9] A day of mourning was organised in Bareilly Sharif.[10][11]

Funeral events[edit]

After the death of Akhtar Raza Khan, the funeral was organised by the Members of Bareilly Sharif Dargah and other organisations related to Dargah. The Namaz-e-Janaza was leaded by the son of Akhtar Raza Khan and head Mufti of Bareilly, Asjad Raza Khan at 10:00 AM on 21 July 2018.[3]

Memorial events[edit]

The Urs of Akhtar Raza Khan Qadri or Urs-e-Tajush Shariah is organised annually at the Bareilly Sharif Dargah to commemorate the death. It is being organised since 2019.[12]
