Chishti (surname)

Chishti (Persian: چشتی‎, Bengali: চিশতি) is a common family name in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. The family name indicates ancestry from Sufi Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti of the Chishti order.[1][2][3]

Chishti can also be spelled as "Chishty". in India, where the order began, it is sometimes spelled as "Chishty".
