Cheeni 2 is a 2023 Indian Bengali-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by Mainak Bhaumik. It is a sequel to the 2020 Bengali film Cheeni and was produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films.[1][2][3]
Plot[edit | edit source]
Mishti is a housewife who feels taken for granted by her husband and ignored by her children. Cheeni, her new tenant, is a lively young woman with big dreams who avoids commitment in relationships. The two women bond over their struggles and begin a journey of self-discovery together. Their friendship is complicated when Cheeni falls in love with Mishti's son.[4]

The screenplay was written by Aritra Sengupta, and the cinematography was by Modhura Palit. The music was composed by Mainak Mazoomdar.[1] Bengali news outlets reported on the sequel in early 2023, ahead of the start of its shooting.[6][7]

The film was released in India on 11 August 2023 and has a running time of 125 minutes.[1] It is available to stream on hoichoi.[4]
