What belongs in this category[edit | edit source]
- User pages and their subpages.
- User talk pages.
- Sandboxes and draft pages in user space.
- Personal essays, which are also listed separately at Category:Bharatpedia user essays.
What does not belong in this category[edit | edit source]
- Articles — these belong in the main namespace and are categorised by subject, not here.
- Project-space pages such as policies, guidelines, and information pages — these belong in project content and its subcategories.
- Template, category, and file pages.
Categorising user pages[edit | edit source]
Editors are generally free to categorise their own user pages and subpages as they wish, within the limits of the categorisation guideline. Two points are worth noting:
- User pages should not be placed in content categories. A user page filed under, say, a category for living people, or for a topic area, will confuse readers and will normally be removed.
- User pages may be placed in maintenance categories where this is useful — for example, a category for editors who speak a particular language, or who are willing to help with a particular task. These should be project-space categories, not article categories.
The {{Bharatpedia essay}} template categorises personal essays into Category:Bharatpedia user essays automatically when used in the user namespace. To suppress this, pass nocat=yes to the template.
