Biju Saharanchala Vidyutikaran Yojana (BSVY)
Biju Saharanchala Vidyutikaran Yojana (BSVY) is a new scheme launched by the Odisha Government, which aimed at providing electricity to the living individuals in unelectrified slums and homes with least populace of 100 in metropolitan regions, BPL families living in such un-electrified metropolitan zones and system improvement. It would cover each of the 103 metropolitan neighborhood bodies in the state.[1] Odisha Government directed the chief of the urban local bodies to complete the schemes within a specific time.
Stating that the urban local bodies (ULBs) will have to play a crucial part in the execution of the programme, the Chief Minister declared that for this each municipal corporation will be provided ` 1 crore while the municipalities and Notified Area Councils (NACs) will be sanctioned ` 50 lakh and ` 30 lakh each respectively. The workshop was attended by elected and official delegates of the ULBs. Minister of State for Energy Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Minister of State for Urban Development Badrinarayan Patro and Secretary in the Energy Department Pradip Jena tended to the workshop.[2]
The Odisha government has finished electrification of 2.2 million additional families in this financial, sloping up the include of electrified families in the state to 9.6 million.[2]
