Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita Bill, 2023 was introduced in Lok Sabha by Home Minister Amit Shah on 11 August 2023 aimed to replace the existing Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) of 1973.[1][2]
This is a part of ongoing exercise that India undertook to reform the country's laws in dating back to British Raj.[3]
