Baniya (surname)
Baniya or Bania (Nepali: बानियाँ) is a surname of people belonging to the Hindu Chhetri (Kshatriya caste) of Nepal.[1] The alternate spelling of Bania is also used by Chhetris.[2] Indian use Bania (Hindi: बनिया) It is also used as a family name by European people.
