Bangaru Bommalu (transl. Golden Toys) is a 1977 Telugu-language romance film, produced and directed by V. B. Rajendra Prasad[2] under his Jagapathi Art Pictures banner.[3] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Manjula[4] and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.[5]

Plot[edit]

Gopi (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) is a man haunted by his past life. He starts stalking Rani (Manjula), a celebrity and the daughter of a wealthy man. Gopi keeps calling her "Radha" every time he sees her. After a while, Rani decides to go with Gopi to a village where he promises to reveal their shared past and also tells her that her memories will come back and she will remember everything. Here, Gopi tells her their past life love story. Gopi was the son of a Zamindar (Satyanarayana) who's very particular about his image. Radha is a common domestic help who works in the landlord's house. Gopi and Radha fall in love. But Gopi's father is completely against their union. Gopi eventually gets kicked out by his father and he starts to live in a small hut along with Radha. They face a lot of challenges posed by the landlord, but they surmount all obstacles. What happens to Gopi and Radha is the crux of the story.
