Bali, Baghpat district
Bali is a village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.[1] It is located in the Baghpat block of the Baghpat district.[2]
Administration[edit]
The village is administered by a Panchayat.[3] In 2016 the Sarpanch (village chief) was Bhopal Singh. Preceded By -Smt Shimla Devi W/o Shri Joginder Singh Foji. In-Office- 2011 to 2016 (Panchayat Officer - Smt Shimla Devi) Awards- President Award For her work and contribution to Bali Village Panchayat in 2015. Karantikari Village- Bali Announced by govt of indin in 2014. The First Electricity House in the village was built in her tenure in the year 2013. Almost 600+ Government Toilets were built in the village during her tenure(2011 to 2016). 300+ Old men and women Pensions. 120-Widow Pensions. Creation of Ram Mandir (2014)During her tenure in Mevala Village.
Economy[edit]
Agriculture is the main occupation. Major crops include sugarcane, wheat and rice. Vegetables including gourds, pumpkins, potatoes, ladyfinger, spinach, radish and carrots are cultivated. Some villagers work at the Baghpat Cooperative Sugar Mills, one-half km from Baghpat city.
Education[edit]
The village has four schools: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel School, Shaeedh Manveer National School and two Govt. schools. Sunil coaching classes are there. The nearest colleges are located in the neighbouring [Agarwal mandi tatiri, Baghpat and Baraut] and the Baghpat city.
Facilities[edit]
The village has a small hospital; the neighbouring Baraut is home to Aastha Multi-speciality hospital and several bigger hospitals are located in Baghpat.
Culture[edit]
Temples include Shiv mandir, Baba mohan ram mandir and Devi mandir, Balmikhi mandir, Ravidas mandir and Mata mandir.
Demographics[edit]
As of the 2011 India census, Bali had a population of 5,005 including 2,670 males and 2,335 females. Its literacy rate of 76.74% is above the state's average. The literacy is higher among the males (87.84%) than the females (64.16%).[4] Mandaar clan of Gurjars form the majority of the population.
