Babu Beni Bahadur Singh was the ruler of the Kohra (estate) in Oudh (present day Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh) and belonged to the Bandhalgoti clan of Rajputs.[1][2] Inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and the teachings of Vinoba Bhave, he actively participated in the Bhoodan movement and donated a portion of his land for the welfare of the landless and underprivileged.[1]
