Konda Bhaskar Arun Karthik (born 15 February 1986 in Walajapet, Tamil Nadu) is an Indian cricketer, who currently plays for Tamil Nadu and was a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. Karthik is a right-hand batsman and leg-spin bowler. He was a Wicket-keeper batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Karthik made his List A debut for Sri Lankan side Badureliya Sports Club in November 2007, scoring 38.[1] He was an ever-present in the Badureliya one-day team during the 2007–08 season and finished as their highest runscorer.[2]
In November 2008 Karthik made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu against Karnataka, opening the innings he scored 149, sharing in a 246-run stand with Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan.[3]
For the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy tournament, he moved from Kerala to Puducherry cricket team.[4] Now he is back in the Tamil Nadu side for the Syed Mushtaq Alli Trophy 2021.
A right-handed top-order batsman and occasional opener, Arun Karthik began his first-class career with 149 on debut against Karnataka in 2008-09. He was part of a power-packed Tamil Nadu batting quintet that season, scoring 344 runs in four games. Arun Karthik began his mainstream career in Sri Lanka, where he represented Badureliya Sports Club for one season. He was the leading run-scorer for his club, with 213 runs in nine games in the 50-over tournament. Karthik is currently settling into his role as a regular top-order batsman for Tamil Nadu.
