Arshiya Das (born in 2010)[1] is an Indian chess player from Agartala, Tripura .[2][3][4]

Biography[edit]
She was born into a Bengali family in Tripura in 2010. Her parents are Purnendu Das and Arnisha Nath Das. Her father is an employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.[3]
Career[edit]
She is coached by FIDE Master Prasenjit Dutta.[5]
She started her career at the age of 5 in a chess competition held in Agartala . She participated in the national championship at 6 years of age. She won a bronze medal in the 31st National under-7 girls chess championship in 2017 at Vijayawada and is currently the under-9 chess champion in India after winning at the National School Championship, 2019 at Raipur.[3][4]
She, the first person from Tripura and other northeastern states of India, won a gold medal at the Asian School Chess Tournament in 2019.[2][3][4]
Awards[edit]
She was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in 2021 for her outstanding contributions in the field of sports (chess).[2][3][6]
