Ajit Prabhu is an Indian entrepreneur who is the Chairman and CEO of QuEST Global which he co-founded with Aravind Melligeri in 1997 at Schenectady, New York. He hails from Hubballi city in the Indian state of Karnataka.[1]

Early education[edit]

He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology in Hubli[2] and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University. Did his second master's degree in Bio-Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. During his earlier days, he worked at General Electric’s Corporate Research and Development Center located in Schenectady, New York while working on power generation, aircraft engines, appliances and locomotive related engineering problems.[3]

  • Inducted into the Old Dominion Strome Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame in Nov 2019 [5]
  • Global Entrepreneur of the year award for his efforts and contributions towards entrepreneurship development from the TiE Hubballi chapter on 13 February 2018 at TiECoN 2018.[6]
  • Recipient of Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year India Award 2014 in the Service category.[7]
  • Awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award in 2014 by the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.[8]
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certificate holder and recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the International Association for Dental Research.[3]
  • He was the third person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Old Dominion University in the 87-year history of the University.[9]
  • Outstanding Achievement award, by the University Alumni Association for his accomplishment in building one of the leading global engineering companies in the world - Quest Global.[9]
