Aasai (தமிழ்: ஆசை English:Desire) is a 1956 Tamil Family – Social film, directed and produced by M. Natesan. The film dialogue was written by Ilangovan, K. V. Gnanasambantham and V. Laxmanan and the story was written by M. Natesan. Music by T. R. Pappa is an asset to the film. The film stars Gemini Ganesan, Padmini, D. Balasubramaniam, M. R. Santhanalakshmi playing lead, with N. S. Krishnan T. A. Mathuram, P. S. Veerappa, Chittoor V. Nagaiah and Thirupathisamy in supporting roles.[1][2][3][better source needed]
