AAP government advertisement controversy

AAP government advertisement controversy is about the alleged use of Delhi Government's funds by Aam Aadmi Party for its political gains.

Delhi Government Budget 2015[edit]

The Delhi government has provided for an amount of 5.22 billion (US$60 million) for advertisements in Delhi Budget 2015–16.[1]

CAG Report[edit]

A CAG report was tabled in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi on 10 March 2017. The report pointed out that the AAP government spent 29 crore (US$3.3 million), constituting 86% of the total expenditure, on "advertisements outside Delhi, as part of one particular campaign, which was beyond its responsibility."[2][3] It further reported that "advertisements worth 24 crore (US$2.8 million) were in violation of financial propriety and Supreme Court regulations".[4]
