Lover Boy is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language romantic film written and directed by debutant Ashok Kumar, a former associate of filmmaker Atlee. The film marks the acting debut of Arjith Shankar, son of filmmaker S. Shankar, in the lead role, with Krithi Shetty as the female lead. It is produced by Sudhan Sundaram under Passion Studios, in association with Venkat K. Narayana's KVN Productions.[1]

Development[edit | edit source]
The film was announced by Passion Studios as the acting debut of Arjith Shankar and the directorial debut of Ashok Kumar, a former associate of Atlee. Producer Sudhan Sundaram stated that KVN Productions founder Venkat K. Narayana joined the project after being impressed by Ashok Kumar's narration.[2] Krithi Shetty was cast as the female lead.[1]

Principal photography commenced on 19 June 2026 with a formal pooja ceremony held in Chennai. The launch event was attended by film personalities including S. Shankar, A. R. Murugadoss, H. Vinoth, Aditi Shankar and Jason Sanjay.[1][3]
