A stand-alone list is a Bharatpedia article that consists mainly of a list of entries on a shared topic, presented as an article in its own right rather than as part of another article.

A stand-alone list is acceptable when:

  • the list topic as a whole has been discussed in reliable sources, so the list itself meets the notability criteria;
  • the selection criteria for entries are clear and neutral; and
  • the list is useful for navigation or study in a way a category alone is not.

Lists of companies, schools, people or products must follow the same notability rules as other articles: an entry normally belongs on a list only if it is notable, or if it is needed to make a sourced, complete list of a well-defined set.
