"Lai Haraoba" (Meitei: ꯂꯥꯢ ꯍꯔꯥꯎꯕ, romanized: lāi-harāo-ba, Old Manipuri: ꯂꯥꯢ ꯍꯂꯥꯎꯄ, romanized: lāi-halāo-pa, lit. 'Merrymaking of the Gods') is an annual ritualistic sacred music and dance festival, celebrated by the Meitei ethnicity, to please the Lam Lais (Countryside deities) and the Umang Lais (Sylvan deities) of Sanamahism, the Meitei religion, especially in the Indian state of Manipur.[1][2][3][4][5]
