"Helloi" (Meitei: ꯍꯦꯜꯂꯣꯢ), also spelt as "Heloi" (Meitei: ꯍꯦꯂꯣꯢ) (literally "nymph"[1][2] or "siren"), in the Meitei religion, is a female nature spirit,[3] often shown as a beautiful maiden.[4] A Heloi is the most powerful among the female spirits who cause disease.[5] Women may get sick in their sexual organs and men became insane from the attacks of the helois.[6] The hellois are often known with the charming beauty, ecological balance and male submission (seduction).[7]
