Moorthy described the film as an investigative thriller, based on real-life cases that follows an investigation by a team over a period of an year-and-a-half.[3] It takes place in 2015 - 2017 period. The film was produced by V Cinemas International[2]

The film was earlier scheduled to be released in May 2020, but after the COVID-19 pandemic surged in India the release was postponed. Moorthy was adamant that the film should be released on theares first as many of the film's crew ncluding him were debutants and they wanted their first film to be watched in theatres.
