Autoconfirmed is a user group on Bharatpedia. It is automatically assigned by the MediaWiki software to registered users who meet certain minimum thresholds. It is not a right that users can request directly, though a similar group called confirmed can be granted manually by administrators.

Requirements

A registered user is automatically promoted to the autoconfirmed group when they have:

  • made at least 10 edits; and
  • had an account for at least 4 days.

Rights

Autoconfirmed users can:

  • edit semi-protected pages;
  • move pages that are not protected from moving;
  • upload files, if uploading is enabled for the user group;
  • edit their own user CSS/JavaScript pages, if allowed by local policy;
  • mark their edits as minor;
  • use other minor features available to established users.

Autoconfirmed status does not make a user an administrator. It does not allow them to delete pages, block users, protect pages, or edit fully protected pages.

Confirmed users

The confirmed group has the same rights as autoconfirmed users, but it is granted manually by an administrator. It is usually given to users who need autoconfirmed rights before they meet the automatic requirements, such as:

  • users operating a legitimate alternate account;
  • users who have demonstrated a need for the rights;
  • users affected by technical restrictions.

Requests for the confirmed flag should be made at Bharatpedia:Requests for permissions or the BP:AN.

How to check

A user can check their user groups at Special:Preferences. The autoconfirmed group will appear if the account has met the requirements. Alternatively, Special:ListUsers can be used to search for users in a group.
