ETV Prabhakar is an Indian actor, producer and director who works in Telugu television and films.[1]
Early life and career[edit | edit source]
Prabhakar was born as Prabhakar Podakandla and is originally from Khammam. After completing his tenth standard, he worked as a home guard in the police department. He later studied theatre at Nizam College, where he received a gold medal from C. Rangarajan, who was the governor of Andhra Pradesh at the time.[2]
Prabhakar made his television debut with the Doordarshan serial Chanakya. He later gained recognition through the television serial Ruthuragalu.[3]
He subsequently worked as a dubbing artist for actors including Uday Kiran, Prabhu Deva, Aryan Rajesh and Abbas. He later became a creative manager at ETV, where he produced programmes including Yahoo, Star War and Smile Raja Smile. After leaving ETV, Prabhakar acted in Muddu Bidda, which brought him recognition. He also produced the television serials Anna Chellelu and Moodu Mulla Bandham.[4]
In 2017, Prabhakar made his directorial debut with Next Nuvve. He subsequently directed Brand Babu in 2018. He made his lead film debut with Rajugari Kodipulao in 2023.[5]
