Ahaan Panday (born 23 December 1997) is an Indian actor and fashion model. He made his Bollywood debut in 2025 with Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara, produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), which became one of the year’s highest-grossing Indian films.[1][2]
Early life
Panday was born in Mumbai to businessman Chikki Panday and fitness expert Deanne Panday.[3] He attended Oberoi International School and later pursued graduation at the University of Mumbai.[4]
During his teens, he was active on social media and gained popularity through short comedy sketches and dance clips, before deleting most of his early content prior to his acting debut.[5]
Career
Modeling and early work
Panday began his modeling career in 2016, walking for designer Nandita Mahtani in Mumbai.[6] He later worked as an assistant director on films like Freaky Ali (2016) and Rock On 2 (2016), and starred in short films such as Fifty (2017) with his uncle Chunky Panday.
Breakthrough with Saiyaara (2025)
Ahaan made his acting debut as the male lead in Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films.[7] The film co-starred Aneet Padda and was initially conceived as Aashiqui 3 before being reworked into Saiyaara.[8]
Released in July 2025, Saiyaara became a commercial and critical success, grossing over ₹581 crore worldwide.[9] Critics praised Ahaan’s emotional depth and chemistry with Aneet Padda.[10] Veteran actor Anupam Kher lauded Panday’s performance, calling him “a talent for the next generation.”[11]
The movie’s song “Dhun” topped Spotify India charts and trended globally.[12] On streaming, the film became Netflix’s number-one non-English title worldwide upon release.[13]
Post-Saiyaara work
Following Saiyaara’’, Panday signed a multi-film deal with YRF. His next project is an action-romance directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, co-starring Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol.[14][15]
He was also featured on Filmfare’s “Men We Love” list for 2025 and signed endorsement deals with six Gen-Z fashion and lifestyle brands.[16][17]
Personal life
Ahaan lives in Bandra, Mumbai. His home has been featured in several lifestyle publications for its minimalist, eco-friendly design.[18] He is close to his cousin Ananya Panday and often appears with his family at public events.[19]
